Delightful Dessert

Edmund shoveled in Turkish Delight from the White Witch in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. That’s the first time I heard about the squishy dessert, and knew I had to try it when in Istanbul. Strolling through the Spice Bazaar you pass by display after display full of Turkish Delight, but I held off until we reached Hafiz Mustafa.  I could see why they’ve been in business since 1864. Everyone seemed to love working there, and we were greeted with huge smiles. Upon entering I was drawn to the colorful assortment of baklava. After getting free samples the first night, including raspberry and pistachio delight and chocolate covered espresso beans, we came back again the next day for a taste of their Turkish coffee, some more chocolate baklava, and even a little hazelnut nest.
