Perfume bothers my nose, but if I did wear it, I would want it to smell like trdelník. They refer to these heavenly rounds in Hungary as kürtőskalács. They’re actually traced back to an old Hungarian part of Translyvania called Székely land, but my first experience with the sweet grilled dough was in Prague. Traditionally topped with crushed walnuts, sugar, and cinnamon, the aroma was overwhelming outside MLS creperie. If your nose can’t lead you to these treats, look for the large hanging swirls, the streets are full of them.
